Edit: Just read this: https://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?...mpage=1#466281 Everyone who is thinking of getting a Palit or Gainward should go to that link, apparently the end consumer Gainward/Palit GTX 460's dont have VRM Heatsinks, while the reviewer units did. This results in crazy high temps on parts of the board and the fan cranking up high and loud. This made my mind up, I preordered an EVGA 1GB 460 with "external exhaust."

Nah, 480 SLI and 5800 Crossfire users are still mere enthusiasts. I don't call myself a nutjob. The true nutjobs are the Tri and Quad 480 SLI and 5970 Crossfire users who put water-cooling blocks on their GPUs. And then throw in a GTX 285 or 460 for PhysX in there for good measure.

460 =/= 285
Runs cooler, better PhysX performance, runs DX11 titles quite a bit better than other cards in its class, etc etc... Not a sidegrade.

I am pleasantly surprised to see that my 295 is still quite competitive.

The only people to have lived continuously on the land from time immemorial are Jews. So many others have conquered, ruled, thrived and ultimately perished there that the list would take hundreds of pages. A mere sample would include: Byzantines, Persians, Arabs, Turks, Circassians, Kurds, Abbassids (Iraqis), Egyptians, Kharezmians (Genghis Khan), Mamluks, Mongols, Latins (Crusaders), Ottomans, French and English. It is not and never was Palestinian land. "If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."....Ronald Reagan "You guys are still crying about Fox News? SLi is not worth it in my opinion. The problems you could get with drivers lacking support for a specific game versus just getting a single 480GTX are not worth the 10FPS difference.
I went from a benchmark faster system to the single card setup and its far better performance overall. What I wana see is what high end devices come from this chipset. |
