Not necessarily. I have an SC but it didn't come with the new bracket. It depends on if his SC cards were from older stock or newly received stock so he might have to order the bracket.

See it on the first page of this thread. It's just a bracket with bigger holes so it can expel more heat faster. You could technically just mod your current bracket with a dremel but you would void your warranty so this just avoids that situation.
