Hello, I'm running two eVGA GTX 470's in Sli, not superclocked or anything. I was wondering, what are the normal temperatures for these cards? I normally get 45-60C idle and when I go into Crysis or anything they go up to 85-95C.
Just wondering what the normal temperatures are for these cards with the normal fan and stuff. Thank you.

Normal for the stock fan profile, If you get MSI 1.60 After Burner You can create your own fan profile, which can keep your temps down alot more by turning fan speed up quicker at a lower temp.

Ok so I just downloaded MSI Afterburner, and I got two questions...
1. Do I also install Kombustor? 2. I went into fan settings thing, and I moved the curve up so the fan is always at 65% speed and then if card goes above 85C it goes up to 85% speed. But it's noisy as hell right now and the fan keeps going up to 65-68-70 etc. Is this normal?

Actually scratch that.
I'm leaving them at 45% Fan speed up to 65C when Idle so less noise, and when I play and temps go above 65C the fan will go up to 55%, and if above 65C it will go up to 65% max.

I'm using MSI Afterburner to control my fan speed (and overclock)
at 1087mV core voltage, and 800 mhz core clock i'm seeing the temperatures hit 89 max during things like Battlefield Bad Company 2. Your temperatures look about right for the default fan profile

I have 2 470's in sli and I have my fan profile at 50% usage/50% fan speed then 60/60 and so on. My cards never go above 83 even when playing Crysis or Metro 2033.

I have two MSI GTX 470 running in SLI and I keep the fan at 65% for normal use and I can not hear them over my case fans.Even when running them at 800/3900 I set the fan at 100% but it very seldon hits 80C.They idle at 38c and 39c.But I keep them set at 775/3800 and the fan at 75% at stock voltages and it is not to loud and tempertures stay in the upper 70's. But I have not really ran one of those newer games that may make it work harder.

Hi there
Anybody suggest using an aftermarket cooler like the GELID Icy Vision for the EVGA GTX470 ? http://www.gelidsolutions.com/produc...1&cid=17&id=52 It got good reviews but i don't wanna loose my warranty. Well this is my FurMark result, running it on Linux as i have no MS-Windows at all. Is 91°C really alright and vital for this card ? Normal 3D use pushes temperatures to 82-85°C. ![]() |

Before I set my fan profile I used to get over 90C while playing Crysis, and 60C idle.
Now I set my fan profile to always be at 45%, and if cards go above 60C The fan will start going up, max speed for fan I set is 90% but that's only if the temps go up to 90C. And I also added an extra 120mm fan that blows right into them, and an 80mm fan as well. So now my temps are 40C idle, and when playing Crysis at max settings with 16xQAA, they don't go above 83C with the fans at around 60-65% speed. But I think 90C is normal for these cards...
