Linux driver for GTX 460

The new GTX 460 seems to be a really great piece of hardware. I'm planning to buy one when a Linux driver for it is released. Is there any chance for this to happen in the next two weeks?

I bought one today, works great.
How could we live all that years without tessellation? Unigine Heaven looks really awesome.

Why isn't the card mentioned in the documentation of 256.35?

Good news.... I think this is the card I'll be getting.

Once DangerDen has a waterblock for this I may have to pick one up then move the 8800GT for use as a physics card (on those times I boot over to the "other" OS for some gaming).

256.35 was released before the GeForce GTX 460 was announced.

with the regular 256.35's off NVIDIA's site?

I'm asking because I've tried a couple times on a fresh install of Lucid and the install seems to go ok but then after the reboot the machine hangs at the KDM login screen, mouse moves etc. but cant click on anything or type in fields.

I also purchased a GTX 460 but the driver 256.35 worked with my old graphics card 9600 GT much better.

Following issues with GTX 460 and driver version 256.35:

- HD video with mplayer is tearing a little
- web sites are loading slowly sometimes with firefox
- when switching consoles by pressing "ctrl+alt+F1-F8" with running compiz fusion on xorg the system freezes completly and only a hardware reset helps

Hope it will be released a better performant driver soon ...

I ran the vdpau testing tool and I think there is something really buggy in this area.

I already had 256.35 installed with my 9600GT. I just swapped the cards and everything worked. I am running Xubuntu 7.04.
