Seriously, don't just get a BB because you make phone calls and text. That's retarded. Get a phone that will do 1K times more stuff, don't limit yourself to a BB.

I'm getting it for free. My contract renews in march 2011. My current phone can literally do nothing. Absolutely nothing. This is going to be a huge step up for me. Don't get me wrong, I would love an android phone, but there is no way I can get one right now. Hopefully by march 2011, I will have a job and will be able to pay for it and the data plan.

The BB needs a data plan. They are good phones for email, texting, sms and chat type stuff. They have good battery life and are reliable.

The 8900 is not the newest model, it's over a year and half old and doesn't have 3G. The Bold 9700 is the latest and there is a Tour 96xx that is similar.

The only thing is they are not that good for music, apps, video or anything like that. They can do it, but it's subpar.

I have a BB now and my next phone is going to be a iPhone 5 next year or Android.
