I think once Polyphonic/Sony fixes the netcode, people would be playing this all the way till the final release. I have never heard of a racing game that survived just on singleplayer, multiplayer is what is going to draw in the crowd. I guess for now till 09 that is going to be the focus of the developers.

BTW, did any of you watch the Beyond the Apex video thats on the disk and can also be downloaded. The amount of work and attention to detail that has gone into this game is mindblowing. They deserve every penny that this game will make.

Umm, actually there never has been Multiplayer outside of split screen or lan play on GT before, so it's survived quite well seeing as how the series is 10 years old.

If you're like me, someone who always wishes there was a sim that had cutting edge graphics, then you'll love this game even when it's just a Prologue.

If you're one to play with a pad and then turn all the aids on and simulation to it's easiest level then you're better off buying something else.

With the aids off this game is very very hard. It starts off easy but then it leaves you with these very tough S-class races. There are also manufacturers races. I doubt you'll finish everything in under 40 hours.

Plus there is drifting, time trials leader board and online racing to keep you busy forever.

Holy crap this game is already 2 year old...

Anyway, Eiger Nordwand Reverse License A test with BMW M3 coupe... You can eat it!

Finally got gold on that. While I was playing around I did a time trial and layed down a 1'13.330 (using slightly better tires) and ranked 402. That probably means that only 300 people have actually gotten the gold on that friggen test.

I bet only like 10 people got gold on the A class Ferarri 430B test though. I'm not even close on that one.

EDIT: Now 320 with a 1'13.068 Had a 1'12.788 but it was invalid for touching the wall.

Very very impressive. I gave up on that one. I'm assuming this was using professional physics.

Did you drift that last turn before the finish?

Oh wow, didn't see this reply.

Actually using standard physics gives you better times because the car is less of a handful. I wouldn't say that I throw the car way out into a drift, but the tires are usually squealing through the turns.

Just checking this thread for another little update. The TVR event challenge is also pretty hard to beat. Using the Tamora '02 I put down a 2'20.334 on the last lap to get first place. I was cheating with the quick tune in order to put that down.

Tested the same car in time trial and was able to manage a 2'22 something. (Slightly better tires, but normal weight and power) Currently ranked 196th.

Doing that event I was like man, am I really driving that badly? Top rank is 2'12 for time trial, I'd love to know how they pulled that off.

They are just half a second to a full second faster than you coming out of turns. Especially those turns that lead into straights can't make a big difference.

I'm always about 10 seconds behind the leaders too. I just don't have time to shave those tenths of a second off.
