xorg segfaults when using crt-1 on x64

[Vorgus]

I have 2 nearly identical computers running debian squeeze. One is 32bit and the other is 64bit. Both have the Asus 8400 silent video card. Both where just updated a few days ago to latest xine, v4l and apt update/upgrade. Both are running kernel-2.6.34.

The 32bit has been mostly working for more then a year. I was having problems with a tuner dropping out, but that turned out to be a defective card (which then died out of warrenty). I have a monitor connected to the DVI port (CRT-0) using a DVI-VGA adaptor (had to do it that way because the video card uses the DVI port first if connected and there seems to be no way to change that), and I connect a TV to the VGA port. The VT does not have an EDID chip (1985 sony).

ON 64bit, when I try to use CRT-1 for video, xorg segfaults. I'm using the same config file for both computers. I can use CRT-0 and I can have it send to both CRT-0 and CRT-1 which causes the TV to be just a window of CRT-0. If I try to send to just CRT-1, which works on the 32bit, xorg crashes. #xorg says it's the nvidia driver:

Tried using a second computer monitor on the VGA port using standard res, 640x480, 1024x768, 1280x1024. Those modes work when sent to CRT-0 but all crash when trying to use CRT-1 (VGA port).

With some help from plagman on irc found that killing mplayer+vdpau on that second screen is enough to crash X

Does the problem go away if you set VDPAU_NVIDIA_NO_OVERLAY=1 in the environment before starting your video player? This sounds a lot like a problem swarren just fixed recently.

Just switched from NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-256.35.run to NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.31-pkg2.run an dit now works on CRT-1.
