Yea...I got a nice laptop that could take the load....so do you think that running/configuring compiz is worth it?

Its cool to play around with for a while, and I imagine most of the bugs that bothered me are fixed, but its kinda gimmicky. Last I used it is right after the different teams merged.
IMO you can have a nice looking desktop without it. |

I already do have a great looking desktop. I was just wondering is compiz' eye candy is worth the hassle.

DE looks empty without it - Yeah I'd say it's worth it.
What kind of hassles are you having with it? Just curious because my XPS (I believe) has far fewer resources available than your Vostro and I'm having zero issues with it. |

If I still messed around with Linux, I couldn't live without Compiz.

Depends on the laptop. It's not worth it for the battery drain.

I'm not having any (yet)....I just don't want to install it and it becomes a hassle later on.
