Default twinview second screen squished 9500gt

I have a twinview setup consisting of a dfp, set at 1280x1024, and a widesreen 720p tv, hooked up via DVI, set at 1280x720.

My problem is that even though I'm using a 16:9 resolution on my tv, which should fit perfectly, for some reason contents on the tv appear to be vertically elongated. It's kinda hard to explain. My wallpaper image fills the entire tv but it's almost like the signal is still scaled to a 4:3 or 5:4 ratio.

I've made all kinds of adjustments on the tv itself relating to positioning and scaling and have also tried playing with the scaling options in Nvidia Settings, all to no effect. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or has a possible solution.

Thanks
