FWIW, I have this issue with a PCI 9400 GT on multiple motherboards with multiple chipsets, not just KT333. I have seen this issue on Via, SiS, Intel and Nvidia chipsets. It certainly seems like it is something wrong with the card or the driver.

Thought I'd optimistically run this up again on the same old GA 7VRXP Rev 1.1 AGP motherboard, Athlon 2400 and featuring the VIA KT333 chipset.

I've installed mythbuntu 10.04, mythtv 0.23 fixes and 256.44 on a PCI 9400GT. The system is now playing - and its played well beyond a minute, which previously was simply not possible with the older versions, using H.264 720p and this seems to play ok, for 15 mins anyway.

1080i recordings freeze within a minute still.... I guess that's progress, all be it slow..... Display pre-emptions persist...

Any progress on reproducing with a similar PCI video card on your board Stephen?
