Question, I run all my games at 2560x1600 do you think it would be worth ditching my Asus essence stx "to free up the space" and putting in another GTX 480?
I'm just wondering if I'll see substantial gains.. on the other hand I'd have to go back to onboard audio! So I'm not to sure.. Thanks for any and all advice!

I'm using three 5870s on an Asus P6X58D Premium with an Asus Xonar Essence STX. Got the motherboard to go Tri-CrossFireX with the sound card. There was no way I would go back to on board sound after using the Xonar.

you will get around 20% to 30% gains from adding a third GTX 480,and some games you might not see any gains .IMO I don't think it is worth the $500 extra for 20% to 30% gains.

Which model EVGA X58 are you using. If it is the 760 like myself, then forget it. There is an issue with tri-SLI and that model. It melts the mainboard plug on the PSU. It doesn't do it with SLI, only Tri-SLI. You should search the EVGA forums. There are a few posts about it. They may have fixed it in an updated version though.
Here is another thread over at Overclockers discussing it. ![]() Save your money and get a better Intel SSD that supports Trim. |

wow that's nuts.. I'm actually using the E758-A1 board, I was one of the early adopters. Was gonna upgrade that but didn't think it was necessary.. even though the rampage 3 looks really nice!
