Got a few dollars to spend and was thinking of a little upgrade. Running a gtx260 at the moment, and its the 192 variant. Really looking to play Mafia 2 and I game a 19x12 with all the AA my card will put out. If I purchase a 470, then the 260 will go into my son's machine then his 9600GT will go back into my machine as a dedicated physics. Do yall think this will give me a noticable "eye candy" difference? I can get the 470 for about $270 AR and that is with the Mafia 2 game as well. So really $220 since I will be buying the game anyway. I am about to fall off the fence here but I guess I'm wanting someone to just push me off.

I just completed my rig with a GTX 470 and love. Can max out BFBC2 with great FPS. Not sure on other games yet. I'll let you know as I play them.

470 is awesome. Overclocks like hell and will more or less yield 480 performance. amazing bang for the buck.

HD 5830, GTX 460 768mb and GTX 465 have been the bees knees for me, so a 470 for not much more at all... yeah, that's like the hornets elbows or something.

Yes the GTX 470 will give you great gains from a GTX 260.I know everone says the GTX 460 is the best deal and you can find the 1gig version for around $220,but IMO the GTX 470 is the best deal. You can find them for around $280 and it overclocks great as does the GTX 460 but you will get better performance out of the GTX 470 and they overclock to 700/3800 with no voltage increase and with some voltage increase it will hit around 800/3900 .

Just placed the order this morning. Newegg had pulled the deal with the ASUS card then this morning they put up the Galaxy card for $270 AR with Mafia2, so I jumped. Should be here Tuesday.
Cant wait!
