If you want to see how it looks and runs, get the benchmark http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/media/benchmark/na/
realize it is from a game still being tweaked.

I did run that, but I wanted to see the game in action, rather than a fixed benchmark app. I wanted to see the UI, the flow, etc.

Just down load the BETA. It is a open BETA so there isn't any nondisclosure.

I can post screen shots if you want but that would mean I would have to go into the game which I hate.

The game does look great. I'm runnin a i5. The game is sluggish but I'm not worried about that since it's a BETA.

So far i'm liking this game. It's running pretty decent for me, but I'm playing it on a 1360x768 monitor

I just started doing battle regiments (solo ones) stacking spells with my conjurer, its pretty fun. I need to level up weaver and carpenter I think just so that I can repair my own gear. Either that or you have a NPC repair it to 50% or hire another player to do it.

Been playing it for few hours and did several side quests and killed few mobs around. I'm liking it, it's does play a bit like Final Fantasy XI. A lot of things are either changed or improved like new level system. Graphically it's beautiful but a bit sluggish in some areas. I like how cutscene's being done with real actors. Some cutscenes were very well done (i.e. opening cutscene of Ul’dah with Goobbue going ape****).

For sure I'm going to get it on day one.

Is it hardcore grouping like FF XI? Or is it more solo friendly like WoW?

Play with a 360 or ps3 gamepad (the 360 one is easier to setup), and pick maurader.

As for grouping, I haven't found anything that requires a group. If you are doing a easy kill quest you can just crank up the difficulty.

Any tips on getting this thing to download? After an hour I can't even get 1% of it downloaded.

nm opened the files up with utorrent instead of the program's crap torrent client and the downloads flew.

I have a PS3 style pad...will that work?
