I like this game, but it's kind of buggy. I have a GTX 260 and it should be able to handle low physx but if you put it on the game is unplayable.

FastRedPonyCar: Turn off physx and it'll be playable. I don't know why but it just doesn't seem to be implemented right.

Finished it today. It's a bit short but fun. I liked it and the story was decent. The controls can be a bit awkward (kbd + mouse) for the flying parts but you can adjust as you play. Definitely worth the $15 I paid D2D now that they had it on sale. There doesn't seem to be any replay value other than to collect more of the hidden journals and maybe upgrade your guns.

It looks like it wasn't a bug in the game but with the Nvidia driver install. The Nvidia Control Panel says PhysX was installed and enabled but nothing worked with it. I loaded up GPU-Z and it said PhysX was disabled and the nvidia water fluid demo would only work in software mode. I had to completely uninstall the nvidia drivers and physX and reinstall the drivers to get it to work. Now it runs fine.

I just had a similar proble with this game. I've never played it with Physx enabled, so I decided to try it out with a GTX 465 card. I enabled it in the NV control panel and also enabled it in-game (I put it on high just to check it out; I'd probably need to turn it down) ... wen in game using the machine gun and the alien gun, each with the first upgrades available to them. I also have the jetpack but that isn't upgraded yet,

Shouldn't I bee seeing physx stuff with regards to bullets damaging walls/sparking and smoke from the jetpack? I see none of it, and FRAPS is showing no FPS difference. I'm at the stage where you have to find plane parts.

Could the PhysX patch be needed?

In addition to the patch, you need to actually uninstall something before you can fully enable PhysX. After you've installed everything, go into add/remove programs and uninstall the NVIDIA Game Software (at least I think that's what it's called). Then you should be able to play the game with fully PhysX features.

I thought there was a bit too much flying, but I enjoyed the game overall. I think it was a mistake to open with the flying because the controls were difficult to adjust to and the frustration almost caused me to quit. Even in the last stages I was still having problems, especially while defending the Ark as it went through the ravine. I think it would have been better to start on the ground with what's her face and gradually bring the player in with simpler flying tasks and then battles with fewer enemies. I thought the story was a bit off. Maybe I missed a few conversations or something, but I didn't really understand what was going on... Something about the Bermuda Triangle, invading alien forces trying to establish themselves in places of power by posing as humans, Tesla, and a portal. The voice acting was good, but the graphics on the cutscenes didn't seem as good as they could have been.

There were a few bugs, but the worst was when I was supposed to escort some prisoners to a transport and fight off 3 knights. The first time I died and when I restarted from the checkpoint everyone just wandered around with no enemies in sight. The only way I could get past that spot was to restart the level, but for whatever reason the game wouldn't autosave so I had to complete the whole thing from start to finish in one session and I had a few interruptions where I needed to quit. That's a tough spot to play through 3 times...

The most difficult part for me was fighting off the Archons that surrounded the Ark as you were about to leave. I had to lower the difficulty after 5 or 6 attempts.

Not one of my favorites, but I'll definitely play it again.
