Yeah Kotaku is wrong... Go to the website for the store and read the faq.

I'm not for Micro-transactions and games coming out with missing content, only to be released in bits as DLC's (which is basically another form of it), but this is going to be the way things are going forward, I fear.

As gamers that have been around for a few years (or many years), we find this whole thing is kind of appalling. If you really like a game and blow $5 on a few things, who cares, but once a generation of gamers gets used to it being around for every game or type of gaming, nobody will be outraged.....except us when we're in our retirement years remembering what it was like to just buy a game for one price.

Q: Will I have to spend money to remain competitive?
A: No. Any items affecting gameplay, and even most purely cosmetic items, will still be obtainable simply by playing the game

This. Until people get over this new fad, the games are going to suck...unless a LOT of the good regular players are on at the same time.

I quit playing after 15 minutes of telling people to STFU and play...the other team wasn't bothering with that crap, and they were murdering those of us on my team trying to play. It was like 3 of them to every 1 of us.

But the thing is, it's so easy to get weapons. If you're going to buy something, buy a hat.
The new sniper rifle - Reclaimed Metal, and a huntsman.

Yea, it feels like a whole new game now. Social event instead of gaming, like someone already said. Got like 15 trade invites for my 2 hound dogs.
