Thats kinda harsh, there IS option menus in console games aswell I agree though, there's only the advanced wheel settings with its deadzone, linearity etc adjustments but that isnt available for pads.CM dropped the ball in so many areas with this game,i watched simracing tonights test of the PS3 version and theyre having issues with the force feedback on all fanatec's wheels.

The only wheel that seems to work all out with this title on the PS3 is the G27.They love the game though, they mention the bugs and also says that this isn't a game for the die hard sim racer (you ) but they still had a lot of fun with it.Theyre calling it one of the best racing titles yet on the consoles ,with the best career mode of any racing game and i think i have to agree there. If CM patch away the bugs this will be a very solid game and eventhough it's not iracing it might become a stepping stone to get people into what you would call "proper" sims and that can't be all bad can it ?

What's really annoying about this game is, all you need to do is go over the curb slightly more than the stripes and it invalidates the lap, even touching the side wall sometimes does as well.

If you go to deep into corner and miss it, you just lose a lot of time, not invalidate that lap. It's just ridiculous.

Idd and whats even more moronic is when you overcook it and go wide close to the finish line then your NEXT lap is invalidated aswell, that is just plain idiotic

Not sure about the stepping stone part. I don't want to see more drivers in sims because that usually degrades the race quality. Quality > Quantity.
That's why I don't see it as a bad thing that iRacing is subscription based. That keeps the morons/kids away. Just compare it to LFS and you know what I mean...
It's kinda like public vs private MP game sessions in shooters. It's only possible to play a game seriously in a closed, private session. Public is just horrible especially when the gamemode is a bit more complex than just DM/TDM.
Yea know what you mean, try online racing with the forza series, the pgr games etc
I tried F3 online and i absolutly hate the fact that i cannot turn off the public chat,i have no interest in chatting with raging 12 year olds who for some reason doesn't have any brakes. They rearend your car and spin out etc so after that they just scream that it's your fault **** this and **** that.Console online racing seems to be like bumprercars most of the time,no one brakes and leaves you any room so if youre first into the first corner you can bet they will try to take you off the track.Whats the fun in that ? I quickly stopped trying, eventhough with the 360 i find the technical aspect of the online racing allmost faultless,it's just as you say tons of morons out there who ****s everything up.

Yeah, I did 6 laps before I got a valid lap in Monoco. Mind you it's the first time I've played this game at Monoco and I love the circuit. I know Monoco like the back of my hand.

GP4 was a damn good game though with a lot more detail and car setup. GP4 and F1 2000 were my favs but F1 2010 is up there.

slaWter

How did you like GP4 compared to this?

As I remember, EA did F1 2000 and I like this you could sit in the pits, wait to go out and the weather would change during the session.

Codemasters does a great job when it comes to presentation and graphics but racing and track quality is pretty weak.
The EA F1 games were decent but also pretty bad in comparison to Microprose's F1 games.

During the last couple of years, the rFactor mods were the best F1 "games", no doubt.

Luckily great virtual F1 racing will kick off again this November
Agreed. I think if a GP5 came out it would own 2010 but yeah, Codemasters do a slick presentation, though I think the menu system is pretty annoying. I mean DiRT2, WTF, how many times do I have to click to start a friggin race.
