Yeah which I like, Castlevania has never been an easy game.

Finally got the chance to sit down and play it. I like it. I really dig the look of it for some reason and the gameplay feels nice. Nowhere near as fluid as the GoW series, but still pretty good.

Bought the game today. Quite fun. Playing through on "Hard" (forgot what it was called in this) and it can be tough sometimes. Finished the first chapter and so far I am really enjoying the story and the gameplay. The awesome casting doesn't hurt, either.

Looks like I know what I'm doing this weekend! the reviews seem more or less favorable and say that it can't escape the GOW similarities and drawing influences heavily from other of these style games like shadow of colossus and what not.

If they're implemented well, why not? I loved the old ones on NES but the N64 3d one was terrible.

The problem is that it lacks the depth of the games its taking from. I mean combat is pretty simplistic in comparison to GOW and the parts that are from SOTC feel very simplified and rough.

Hey, it is a Castlevania game that doesn't suck. That is pretty hard to accomplish lately. My only real main complaint would be the fact that the soundtrack isn't nearly as awesome as SOTN. I WANT MY METAL SOUNDTRACK!

Playing it now also, I got it from GF. Overall I like it, though I am not too thrilled with the separate light and dark magic orb gathering mechanisms. The Titan battles feel like they were ripped from Shadow of the Colossus and for some reason I don't think they fit right in this game. They actually seem easier than the Lycans and Trolls that I have fought.
