Cpu bus or higher clock

I had my i7 980 at 27 Multi x160 buss 4.320Ghz., I now have it set at 21 Multi X200 bus 4.2ghz. What do you think is better ?, Voltage for cpu is 1.34 for both set ups, intel burn test high stable 5 runs. I play games only on this rig.

I'm afraid you will have to benchmark to get a definite answer.
Benchmark with applications/games that reflect your usage, as each application has their own bottle neck.

On older systems, I would have said that a higher bus would be better, but on the i7, I'm not sure what bus represents anymore, as the memory controller is now embedded.

160 BCLK is the sweet spot, back to where I had it 27X160, tried 22X200, 4.41 GHZ with higher multi lower BCLK, and lots of other combinations 27X160 is the best for my gpus and 3dm

ark vantage score.

yeah higher memory than this dominator 1600C8D, But I'm just going to keep it where it's at. Don't feel like spending more money on new ram.

I have ran many benchmarks with my memory set at 1600 and set at 1200 and I don't see enough gain to even worry about it.I have my i7 920 running at 4.2gigs since I bought it and have ran the memory at 1600 and at 1200 ,but at 1200 I can run my memory at 1.5v7-7-7-21-1T,I even can run my CPU at a lower voltage,I keep it at 1.35v
But I know ever CPU runs different.

A happy medium of both at the same time on the same PC.
