Light or dark room?
Light room: LCD
Dark Room: Plasma.

If you don't care about picture quality, then get the one that is cheapest, the Plasma.

But it looks like the LCD is a better TV.

I would say Panasonic, but I think the C2 is the model with diminishing black levels. I would double check that before buying.

room size is 19x25 i think.with med lighting,and depending on the sun,.

I like the price on the plasma but just not sure with the life span of plasma's and also power use compared to the lcd

Well is this a good life span on the panny "TVs have a lifespan of 100,000 hours." Sounds pretty good to me for a plasma.So far i have not found anything about the black levels and this tv, its looking like it might be the winner.

I also think the black levels was mainly in the 09 models and the one im looking at is a 10 so for the price and what not think its going to be our new tv..

I think all the 09/10 Panasonics have to some degree, some people think its barely noticeable and others see it more.

Either way it wont stop me from getting a VT25 this year

Here is what I tell customers when they ask me "LCD or Plasma?" You can tell nothing by specifications. There is no standard to measure lumens, black level, contrast...ect. All manufactures use their own set of standards. In bight or direct light a plasma will reflect (like a mirror, & just like a tube TV that we all used forever) the light and you will see whatever is in front of the TV. However a plasma will not washout like and LCD in direct light. A plasma in general looks more natural than an LCD.

You MUST go out an look at the TV's to see what you like. Preferably not at the big box stores. They have no clue how to setup and adjust these things and generally have no clue what they are talking about. A small custom shop is a far better place to get knowledge and a better understanding & they usually have the TV's adjusted better than the big box stores.

Look at peoples skin tone when shopping. On a bad TV or one that is not setup well the skin can look odd. You look at people all day so you have a good idea what it should look like.

Just got mine yesterday a brand new Pana TCP50VT25

First power up resulted 2 clicking relays and the dreaded 10 blinks of death (Pwr Led).

After spending some quality time on the net, I soon found out that this set could not be revived.

So I called the sales rep, he told me that they wont replace it and I have to get a waranty repair.

If you purchased it from a local dealer IE a brick mortar store, they will almost always swap it out if it dies the first day. If you got in on the internet....well.. thats what you get for buying online.

Wow...that sucks. I would have went ballistic on a rep if they told me that.
