If you guys are encountering bad performance even after the added dx9 .dll file i strongly suggest to change to 186.xx instead of the new 2xx.xx series of forceware, i just changed and went from 30 - 40 to 60 - 70 fps. Now i can even use supersampling

So which 186.xxs are the best? I remember having to go back a few series of driver before to play Fallout 3 without HDR+SLI flicker. My copy should arrive next week.

I am surprised the DX9 fix didn't fix performance issues for you guys (Soet and ATi) considering the fact we have the same Nvidia card. (GTX295) I am using the latest drivers.

It runs fine for the most part for me but I get serious stuttering and pausing when I enable AA, which was the case in Fallout 3, even with that dll.
Amazing how they haven't fixed the technical issues with the engine and released it with more bugs than Fallout 3. At least it's not ****ty GFWL. |

As mentioned it's more a driver issue than a engine issue. Go back to older drivers and it's fixed. As it's a new release game despite being an old engine. Nvidia will hopefully patch it.

I was playing with 4X AA and I noticed when I walked, I'd get big white softened looking dots on the screen. Almost like flat snowballs. At first I thought it was environmental, it only happens when moving. It doesn't happen standing still or even turning. It seems worse during the day than night.
I googled it and it seems to be a common issue across many different Nvidia cards and this new game. The fix was to turn off AA, for some people setting the lighting to Bloom down from HDR fixed it. All I did was turn off AA and it's fine now. For some reason, the game looks better without AA for me, I am seeing sunrays, more specular lighting on rocks and stuff. Such a weird and buggy engine. I had so many issues with Fallout 3, I'm surprised I was able to get through the whole game. ![]() Overall though, I am loving this game. It seems easier though, tons of loot and stuff is dying quicker. I remember running backwards a lot in the first one. |

I think I'll take a pass on this bugfest.
