I googled it and it seems to be a common issue across many different Nvidia cards and this new game. The fix was to turn off AA, for some people setting the lighting to Bloom down from HDR fixed it. All I did was turn off AA and it's fine now. For some reason, the game looks better without AA for me, I am seeing sunrays, more specular lighting on rocks and stuff.

Such a weird and buggy engine. I had so many issues with Fallout 3, I'm surprised I was able to get through the whole game.

Overall though, I am loving this game. It seems easier though, tons of loot and stuff is dying quicker. I remember running backwards a lot in the first one.
Yeah, I had the same issue. Its probably just artifacts from combining AA+HDR, although I don't remember Fallout 3 having the same issue. It would be pretty sad if Obsidian used an older build of the Gamebryo engine than the one used in Fallout 3.

Those on the PC Version of FO3 might want to check out this mod

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloa...e.php?id=34902

It's the UI mod for resolutions higher than 1024

I crashed again earlier . I think saving manually makes it not crash, but when you put in about an hour without manually saving, you are going to crash and get screwed over . Maybe this was an artificial way to prolong gameplay?

MS used the same technique to prolong playtime on Windows 98 :: and later the 360.

I hope they have a patch out soon. My copy will arrive shortly.

About 7 hours in, got it yesterday afternoon.
About 4 and 1/2 hours in i got the fallout fever i did in 2008 august with fallout 1 and nov of that year with fallout 3. Just got through first actually challenging part.
When it comes to bugs, not really seeing too many serious one. No CTD, no quest breaking, using the .dll trick and seeing the white blocks but not too bad.
I'm sure that before this time I've probably spent at least 200 hours of my life on fallout games.

Amazing. Why does the community have to fix things that ought not HAVE to be fixed in the first place.

Anyways, against my better judgement, I got the game but haven't installed it yet. Do you start a totally new game or do you have the choice to bring over your character from FO3?

Why would you bring you character from FO3? They are completely different characters.

Wouldn't have any sense at all... what would be the fun of having your level 30 character from the beginning? That would ruin the fun, plus the fact the first sequences I've seen on YouTube (I don't have the game yet) are those pertaining to character creation, so... nah.
