Default Some more 6970 Rumors.

Looks like it has a new architecture, and 2GB. The ROPS seem low though. However, if it really is VLIW4, ouch for nvidia?

VLIW 4? Tried googling it but only found a crap load of rather uninteresting PDFs that may as well be writtin in a foreign language.

EDIT: Reading through a PDF now and it sounds like it's a far more efficient and parallel architecture. Is that the jist of it? Greatly enhances efficiency?

Well, I'd not go so far as to say ouch for nVidia yet. I mean, even without VLIW 4 AMD's architecture was far more efficient. This is still new technology from my understanding, so how much will it help AMD? This generation, not much I'll wager. Next generation on 28nm when they have some experience with VLIW 4... that could be the big one.

All speculation, of course.

Meh. This gen is really just a "tide-me-over" till the real meat on 28nm. Those I'm expecting to be rediculously high performers (from both camps), and hopefully they'll give is cards with 2GB of memory.
