Ubuntu just announced that it will switch from x.org to Wayland. I wonder how likely it is that nvidia will support Wayland in the near future?
According to this the only two things a Linux graphics driver needs to support for Wayland are:
I know that KMS is not (yet) supported by nividia. Is sharing video memory buffers between processes supported? |

This switch is only for mobile devices.

As far as I know they want to switch the normal Distro too.
