Default GTX580 is the stuff.

I'm currently running a GTX580 with a GTS450 in my Phenom2 965/MSI NVIDIA 980A rig with a Dell 3007 WFP HC 25X16 monitor.

This is DEFINITELY the ultimate single GPU / single screen setup. My son and I just finished playing Metro2033 all the way through at 25 X 16, AAA, 16X AF, PhysX on, in DX11, silky smooth gameplay.

Now, my other computer has GTX480SLi, so I'm not easily impressed. I'm impressed.I'd also note GTS450s make kick ass PhysX cards.

What you won't notice with these cards noise. I played a few levels of AVP without my speakers on and never noticed the fan spin up.

If anyone has a benchmark requests, I'll run them as able. Not many review sites use AMD cpus, so I might be able to give you a better idea of what to expect with yours.

Rollo, did you use a sli bridge on your GTS450 or just made it a dedicated PhysX card? I was wondering about this if you can sli 400 cards and would it slow a 580 gtx down, but I guess you can run the GTS450 along with it just for a dedicated PhysX card just fine.

I just made it a PhysX card with the CP setting. (haven't heard of people using the bridge TBH- but you can't SLi this card with anything but another 580)

I haven't tested it with/without the 450, but I'll give it a try and post my results. I'm thinking the 450 adds significantly.

Yeah I would agree off the cuff... Just returned my 480 GTX Super Clocked from EVGA under the store 30 return policy and Picked up my EVGA 580 Stock. Very impressive so far. Having used my 480 for a month I can say the 580 is just more consistant with FPS across all games. In terms of heat it is much lower than the 480 and the noise is not an issue.

Very solid card in the short time I've had it.

I will post back the more I use it.

Rolllo, did you use the modified 262.99 WHQL since you are using the GTS450 with your new GtX 580?

I used 262.99 that I downloaded off NVIDIA's partner FTP site. What's up with the dedicated and drivers?

I'd make my GTX 460 768 a PhysX card to sit next to GTX 580 if my PSU would put up with it, but I really don't think it can, especially given that my CPU is well-overclocked. I guess I need to start thinking about getting a 900-1100W PSU.

ragejg, I would get a higher wattage power supply the one you have will be weak if you stick your 460 and GTX580 plus overclocking.

Thank you but I thought I did express that in my post already, didn't I?

Rollo, do not have a clue why they did not release the 262.99 drivers officially for every card. Sort of wierd that the 262.99 only have GTX580 inf and not the rest of the other cards.
