Anyone able to get their GTX580 to 900mhz+?
I'm having serious issues with it, even at 1.138v, I can't get 900mhz or higher stable. Maybe I just got a bad one. Post your overclocking experiences. |

I'm workin' on ~ 928/4666. I think the 100% sweet spot is within 25 mhz of the core or the memory speed I'm at.

Default clocks on all the mid-high range cards seem to be low. The CCC limits you to 775-1100 with a 5850, which is ridiculously low and everyone knows it. Mine will do 850/1200 easy on stock volts and @ 5870 voltage will do 975/1250

Stock speeds are for wussies.
![]() I overclock my dishwasher. ![]() BTW, stable at 1.138V, 929/4670. ![]() I should downclock to 480 speeds and see how beneficial this speed is over that of a stock 480.

I have so many examples that contradict that statement, but I'll just use a few, using personal experience.
Overclocking is a lot of fun, it's a fun and sometimes competitive exercise, and yes, it definitely does make games playable when at stock settings they might not be.

is there really a need to post how much you hate overclocking in a thread for overclocking a gpu? Who cares, post your overclocked results or dont post at all.

The three GTX 580s I have overclock to 860/2080 with 1.100V. SLI seems to limit the overall overclock and I like to have them all running at the same speed. I run them at a safe 820/2060 1.05V for 24/7 use. The cards are much much quieter than the three GTX 480s I had before.
