Yeah, if I remember rightly. Was there slightly, but not asmuch.

It's some weird driver issue somewhere.

Re-install the drivers.

This.

When I went from my dual 8800GTXs to my current 5770 every thing seemed fine, only that any settings in the CCC would not stick. Set AA/AF/etc, apply, ok, fire up game and when I'd exit the game and open up CCC everything would be back at default settings. Kinda frustrating but I just used in-game settings.

Updated to latest driver and now all is well, not a thing I can complain about.

Ahhh I ticked the box which says "Reduce DVI frequency" and now it's much better.

Now all I have to do is get Stalker: Call of Pripyat to actually use VSync. lol

I'm a happy chap.

This system is finally awesome and I can breath again, until the next round of Catalyst drivers that is.

In all fairness to ATi I'm not 100% that the majority of the "problems" are driver related. Mostly people just aren't familiar with/don't understand them. I've always felt it best that when going from nVidia to ATi it's best to do a fresh windows install. Many don't and I'd imagine it's remnants of nVidia's drivers that could cause a great deal of problems for many.

For your situation, you just didn't have the drivers configured right. Not ATi's fault. Not yours either as you're new to them... just throwing out there that we should only dish out blame when it's due. More often than not I bet all these "problems" with ATi's drivers that people complain about are actually user error.

Anyhow... the most important thing is you got your rig working. Not a happier feeling in this hobby. Congrats, bro.

I often think we punish ourselves with this lark so when it does work well, the sense of satisfaction is worth the grief.

Good cards though from what i've seen so far.

@ bold- I like that way of looking at it.

And yes, I've heard nearly nothing but good things about 'em.

Looks like I might be reduced to the fact I have to buy a new screen.

The refresh rate dark wave problem in Stalker totally spoils the game. :-(

Looking more likely to be a display issue.

Here it is, other people with the same problem going back awhile with older Crossfire setups.

EDIT: It's probably bloody VSync not working, the crap I see in the sky is just tearing from all the birds flying and stuff. ffs

Now why isn't VSync working. hmmm
