Just odd that they have a rooting forum on their site and that's ok but don't dare share an update from an official Garmin link on their site for your Garminfone.

She then pmed me and said it was illegal to host copyrighted Garmin software on another site. Could be, I don't know, I'm not a lawyer. Glad I got the file when I did though.

Well, Garmin put the file up temporarily. You didn't illegally obtain the file. If they made it available to everyone, then I don't see the problem in you distributing it through free sites.

If they issue a cease and desist, though, you should probably stop.

Garmin never contacted me and someone procaliming to be from Garmin and had worked on the update file was in the forum and he had no problem with it apparently.
I never posted any links to the file at all outside of the original link on the Garmin site. I did send it to a few people who contacted me through pms however.

I have no problem with sending it to you. Come up with a way I can do it and it's yours. It is 307mb so remember you need to have some way that accepts large files. Let me know.

I don't use any of those.
Like I said on the T Mobile forum. I am willing to send it to someone but I am not going to install anything not already on my computer and I am not going to sign up or give out any personal info on a site to upload it to.

Better snag it quick before the link is taken down like all others have. I tried to hint to them to use pms so the links aren't taken down but...

I believe the link in my first post in that thread is working again but I think someone said it is actually linking to the 4.0.25 file again like it was supposed to be doing originally. I wonder how many people will read the post and click the link and install the file then bitch that I was lying and it isn't 2.1.
