I saw the one on amazon a while back I passed on it because it wasn't adjustable. I ordered the WheelStandPro cause it seems to to all I need it to do. I checked out the Fanatech but it is significantly more expensive. Stand is $130 + $60 for the shifter attachment + Shipping.

I think I'm going to buy one of those wheelstand pros too, luckily the shifter can be mounted on the left side for us right hand drive people. I'd still like to be able to mount the shifter besides my thigh, so I'll see what I can do for creating a custom solution for that. Most race cars have a sequential shifter up near the wheel like this anyway but I still want a H shifter in the normal location so it's more like driving an actual car.

The game leaked, which is certainly unexpected, but what surprises me more, it's only 20GB. Compared to other PS3 exclusive titles, that is awfully small. Wonder why.

Aren't most of the games huge because of uncompressed audio? Maybe they compressed the audio to save space and fit it on a 25GB disc?

It leaked but it's not working. So they did do something right. The install is half the game, and I would do it anyway but it seems like a lot for a console game even though I have installed significantly more for PC games.

It sucks though Amazon canceled my release day shipping, which means I will have to fight the urge to cancel the order and pick it up local. Why'd they have to release it right before Thanksgiving? Alright whine over now .

Unexpected? I thought these days things not getting leaked would be unexpected.

Car models + textures, sound tracks, and code are relatively small compared to the size cost of track models + textures, plus lets face it, 20GB of game data is pretty darn big. You cannot directly compare things such as BD movies to games, because the video data is generated quite differently.

I was comparing it to other first party games, GoW 3 was 40GB for example.

I pre-ordered it & bought a PS3, for the track editor alone.

It seems like Forza 3 did a much better job. I mean who cars about all those crappy Japanese cars in 10 variants each?!

All this development time for what? Porting over 80% of the GT4 cars?
They clearly spent way too much time on premium cars only really making 200 new cars including those they already made for Prologue (although these have been improved).

There are some big holes in the lineup since there are a lot of cars missing from between 2004-2006 when they released no games and many other modern European and American ones too. Also, a heck of a lot of classic American cars missing as well as 80's/90's euro.

Not sure how the DLC for cars is going to work, but I'll just enjoy what we have for now and wait it out for GT6. It's looking like all they need to do for GT6 is make more premium cars and tracks as well as expand on the features that are already there (better damage, car modifications, dynamic time/weather on more tracks). Hopefully they can hire some more modelling staff and get it done a bit faster this time.

Photomode shot of a premium MX-5 (Miata) zoomed into the interior,

This seems to be the reason there are so few premium cars and so many ommissions (they wont model new standard cars, so if a car wasn't in GT4/PSP it will have to be made premium). They just got all OCD on doing every detail of the cars that they didn't have time to do enough... makes you wonder why they did stupid things like a WW2 VW tank/car???

On the up side with tessellation and slightly higher res textures (see above), these premium models will be more than detailed enough for next gen GT on PS4, so hopefully we won't see this standard and premium problem ever repeat itself.
