Not to mention it won't make PCI-E spec.

My guess is its fake, but I guess it could be something like Asus's MARS or something, a limited run rediculously expensive product.

When do some of you finally realize that power consumption is not important for everyone when it comes to high end graphic cards?

According to the rumors this card should use downclocked, but not down-speced, 580 GPUs. And 1.5GB per GPU.
With two 8 pin connectors it can't make PCI-E spec and thus won't be released unless its a limited run ultra high end $1000 card like the full clocked 5970s out there.

Like I said, those cards are limited run cards that have insane prices like $1000+. They dont even make more than a few thousand of them, sometimes only a few hundered. I think they made only 500 Asus MARS cards if I remember right.

While nothing says you can't make cards like that, PCI-E power spec exists for a reason. Going outside of spec is a bad idea, opening them up to lawsuits and crap, which is probably why they have never done it on a large scale.

600w video card? I highly doubt it people....

Since a gtx580 will exceed 300w in furmark, the dual gpu card would be at least 600w even downclocked.

Dual GF104's I could see.

Seems more likely.

Dang you fanboys are in a little denial on this one

I would love to see a monster card like this released as a reference design. But you know it's really, really unlikely. How many dual 8-pin reference cards have been released? None! I know there's always a first for everything, but this just seems like a stretch.

Also weren't there a few cases on certain X-58 motherboards of SLI 480s and 470s melting the 24-pin power connectors? I'm not necessarily saying nvidia's design is at fault here but what I am saying is the PCI-E spec is probably there for a reason and not just for fun. Though perhaps an 8-pin would actually reduce that problem since it should lower the need for power draw through the motherboard.
