We played around with the Kinect when everyone was over for Thanksgiving. The fighting game was a big hit. Everyone was punching and kicking and jump kicking. I should have taped it
![]() The Kinectamals game was a loser with adults and kids. Too much talking and watching and not enough actual playing. Everyone was yelling at the XBox to "Xbox! Skip!" or "Xbox! Play the damn game already!" I had to remind them the voice commands don't work in the game ![]() |

I use Kinect every once a while every week, mostly for working out. Every once a while my friend comes over and we usually play few sessions of Kinect Adventure.

Yes. But think of Kinect being a sports gadget, not a game (controller). If you like sports, you will love Kinect.
And it's big fun for parties ![]()

The Kinect is still very young in games developed for it, so it is easier to compare it to when the Wii was first released. The selection of games is quite small and there are both good and bad games for it. It's going to take a while for the number of genres grows to cover most areas.
I like my Kinect too. |

Rearranged the furniture so now instead of the Kinect facing the long ways in the room it is facing the shorter way and doesn't quite have enough room. When doing the Kinect tune where it makes you stand on all the squares, I can't get to the back squares since the couch is in the way against the wall.
I'm going to have to come up with some way to get it to use a shorter room space. Maybe mount it a little higher? Here you can see the Kinect on the mantle under the tv and a little bit of the front of the couch ![]() And here is the couch that is in the way ![]() |

Jump ahead to today.. I have picked up Kinectimals and Kinect Sports.. Kinect Sports has been a winner and my two girls play it quite a bit.. They have put more time on the Kinect than the whole time we had the Wii.. Hope sales are high enough to warrant developers attention, it has so much promise.

Kinect has sold incredibly well and I believe it'll exceed Microsoft's goal of $5 million units after holiday. Microsoft has announced it sold 2.5 million Kinect in one month. Also best news is that Microsoft said they plan to upgrade current Kinect to take advantage of high resolution camera (originally it was thought Kinect uses 320x240 but it's actually is 640x480! If you hook Kinect up on PC, you'll see two 640x480 images) so it's easily upgradable via firmware.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...inect-accuracy I think Kinect will be something developers will pay attention to in the near future.

Kinect is one of the reasons I finally bought a X360. Its been almost 2 months and we still love it. We have Dance Central, Kinect Sports, Adventures & Your Shape Fitness Evolved. This thing has been a hit at every party & family gathering since Thanksgiving. It was one of the first "wow" experiences I've had in a long time. This type of technology is the future of gaming and all the hacks show the potential.

Amazingly, after my gf saw some commercials, she is interested in Kinect.
I think I will get it for Xmas for her but what games are must haves? She loves animals and does triathlons. Which games to avoid?
