Default Unable to output HDMI with NIVIDIA driver (Mythbuntu) to PolaroidTV TLU-01911CU

Hi there,
Been trying to get my Polaroid TV (via HDMI) to work with my PC (Acer Revo 3610 running Mythbuntu 10.04)

Problem Description:
When I use the Mythbuntu standard driver (not the NVIDID driver) - the TV receives the 1440x900 60hz HDMI signal just fine. It displays as expected.

However, once I enable the NVIDIA drivers - I cannot get any output to the TV via HDMI at all. I only have one monitor/tv connected. The TV is a Polaroid TLU-01911CU. I would like to get either 1440x900, or 1280x720 working on this monitor/TV. I need the NVIDIA drivers to work as I want to take advantage of the graphics chipset to playback HD!

Ok - here are the specifics:
My Xorg.conf file:

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Layout0"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"

The log from Xorg.0.log (attached as text file .zip as a little too verbose for the message)

I have tried so many options - using different modes lines - but I cannot get HDMI to work with my NVIDIA driver to this TV

ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Alessandro

I think this is a common theme.
I think this is a regression in the driver. I had to revert to Ubuntu 10.04.1 with stock drivers (195 series).

Anyone from NVidia care to comment on when this will be fixed?

Perhaps try this sequence, in hope that it might fix things:
  1. Save your existing (working) xorg.conf file somewhere.
  2. Uninstall the nvdia drivers.
  3. Power-off.
  4. Connect to the TV using an HDMI cable, and nothing else.
  5. Reboot. The system should come up in text mode.
  6. Reinstall the NVIDIA drivers, and allow the installer to recreate the xorg.conf file.
Any better?

Hi, Thanks for the options, however....

Actually - i can't get it to work so there is no working xorg.conf to save

  2. Uninstall the nvdia drivers.
  3. Power-off.
  4. Connect to the TV using an HDMI cable, and nothing else.
  5. Reboot. The system should come up in text mode.

If I don't use the NVIDIA drivers, the system boots up totally fine, into Mythbuntu desktop - as expected in 1440x900 resolution. However, as it doesn't use the hardware accelerated drivers/GPU no HD videos are playable and even XBMC is not usable. Too slow, jerky and no good.

  6. Reinstall the NVIDIA drivers, and allow the installer to recreate the xorg.conf file.
Any better?
I had actually tried similar steps before, no good I think it's a bug and NVIDIA should be fixing this, but it seems unlikely to happen any time soon.
