Yes, got the same issue, solved with http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool....1-2_amd64.deb

BTW, where did you get that message? With chromium nothing was thrown in console.

Works here (260.19.21 driver, debian squeeze, nvidia 8200), but it has some bugginess in it.
It left some white bars on the screen and they wont go away (appear if that screen area is black in almost all programs). Guess i have to reload the driver to get rid of them...
Other than that in some flash videos i have very low cpu usage, high on others (~100%).

Then it's completely useless.

And there is no excuse for Adobe this time.

They are lazy and incompetent (but this is not something newly discovered).

Between 32-bit and 64-bit, API is identical (libvdpau), so they have no excuse.

It works fine on 64-bit browsers when you install nspluginwrapper. I've tested it out youtubes 1080p streams on 8200 IGP, 8800GT, GTX-275, and GTX-580 and all are working fine with the 260.19.26 drivers. Perfect vsync and next to nothing for cpu usage (<1%).
Rubbish, there is a 64 bit version with hardware acceleration.

The discussion here is about acceleration using VDPAU.

tar xzf flashplayer10_2_p3_64bit_linux_111710.tar.gz
strings libflashplayer.so |grep VDPAU
VDPAU

while the same for the 32bit version gives

H264 - VDPAU - CPU
H264 - VDPAU - VDPAU
glVDPAUInitNV
glVDPAUFiniNV
glVDPAUUnregisterSurfaceNV
glVDPAUSurfaceAccessNV
glVDPAUMapSurfacesNV
glVDPAUUnmapSurfacesNV
glVDPAURegisterOutputSurfaceNV

That's it (in case you can read).

My experience sort of confirms this: I'm using the latest square flash player on Arch 64 bit and, as soon as I use flash on chromium, CPU usage skyrockets!

version 10.2?

BTW not all flash videos are decoded by hardware (the hd trailers on youtube work perfectly well with low cpu usage). Some flash videos still use up to 100% CPU. So its not a fullproof solution yet.I use Debian Squeeze 32 bit.

Yes, 10.2. I'm going to benchmark some videos on youtube, maybe my experience isn't that bulletproof

Damn, they finally did it. 1080p HD perfect vsync on Ubuntu amd64 (nspluginwrapper'd 32-bit Flash), GTX 470 with Compiz.

Little flicker when changing volume as the Ubuntu notification popup displays but other than that, perfect. I'm impressed Adobe.

32-bit version string search
Code:
dean@linux-z112:~/Downloads> tar -xvf flashplayer10_2_p2_32bit_linux_111710.tar.gz
libflashplayer.so
dean@linux-z112:~/Downloads> strings libflashplayer.so |grep libv
libvdpau.so
libvdpau.so.1

dean@linux-z112:~/Downloads> strings libflashplayer.so |grep glVD
glVDPAUInitNV
glVDPAUFiniNV
glVDPAUUnregisterSurfaceNV
glVDPAUSurfaceAccessNV
glVDPAUMapSurfacesNV
glVDPAUUnmapSurfacesNV
glVDPAURegisterOutputSurfaceNV

the 64-bit from your links string search

Code:
dean@linux-z112:~/Downloads> tar -xvf flashplayer10_2_p3_64bit_linux_111710.tar.gz
libflashplayer.so
dean@linux-z112:~/Downloads> strings libflashplayer.so |grep libv
dean@linux-z112:~/Downloads> strings libflashplayer.so |grep glVD

Adobe made a 64-bit tarball available with the same version number as the 32-bit tarball. Several people were confused by that, myself included.

Understandable however there is a big notice on the download page.
