I would suggest you try the VGA connection and Dot to Dot aspect on the TV.
In my experience the digital to analog to digital conversion you get with VGA connection without overscan gives a better picture than downscaling then upscaling which is what you get with HDMI and overscan.
Thanks for the reply. I tried the VGA as stated in an earlier post. The overscan problem was eliminated but the picture quality was worse. I had at one time both VGA and HDMI connected using twinview. It was very easy to compare using that setup.

I still don't understand why the overscan compensation availability isn't consistent which leads to efforts in other areas to achieve the same results. I'm still waiting to hear the Nvidia official word on this situation.

But did you use the Dot to Dot aspect setting on the VGA connection, or did you use the overscan compensation in nvidia-settings?

1st, when I used the VGA connection method, there wasn't an overscan issue. 2nd, the overscan compensation option was available and it was not used. 3rd, I tried every option available from the TV setup (dot to dot, etc...) and there was difference in the picture quality nor did it affect the overscan.
