Default Asus GTX 470 problems

I recently bought a new Asus GTX 470. Unfortunately I had to return this card several times. Each one replaced with a new one. These cards are all showing Xid errors in dmesg. When playing games, watching HD movies, benchmarking or otherwise using the card. Most people I spoke to told me these are always hardware errors.

Which I think is not always the case. I would like some clarification from nvidia what these Xid errors mean. I noticed several people requesting this information and nvidia almost never replies. This is bad because people need to determine if the card is malfunctioning so they can return it.

I tested my card on several different motherboards, with different A quality power supplies. I also checked the temperatures which are fine. idle 75 degrees, under heavy load about 80 degrees, which seems to be normal temperatures for these cards.
