My 6970 comes tomorrow! Boy am I excited. The 4870 has served me well... and well be going into my roommates box tomorrow.
What's the best driver to use? the 10.12hotfix?

Great... The card isn't 10.5"s long. It won't fit in my case

Just installed my 6970. Its actually a bit shorter than my 5870 because it doesn't have those batmobile protrusions from the end of the cooler. Cooler seems a lot heavier and thicker than the 5870's though. Performance is impressive though as I'm able to run AMD's Supersampling AA method in most games now. I'm going to try out MLAA on games like NFS Hot Pursuit and a few others that don't have native or have glitchy AA support.

Well it could be cause your cards are too hot or you need to split up the rails are on your psu. Try different configs (wiring) for powering your cards.
