playing on 1920x1200 screen, and i like AA b/c i hate jaggies.
also i highly prefer the nvidia drivers, so leaning away from the 6970. the 580 is a little steep for the price, but if i can future proof or it's worth it for AA, i might go that way. and no plans on going SLI/crossfire at the moment. |

I just bought the 570 SC weighing several pro's and con's. Almost bought the 580 but I game @ 19x12 and it seemed to have the right balance without the extra $100 plus.
Depending on things, when I do a full refresh next year, I'll probably get a top of the line card then. For now, the benchmarks for the 6970 and the 570SC kind of swayed me towards the 570SC coz I am going to use it to Fold and game. |

If you're in a 'hurry' to replace your card, I'd say go with a 570 or a 6950, seems like both cards are quite good, but if you can wait, do it for 7/8 more months at least, the closest you can get to Kepler, the better...

570 Meth Edition (with Manatee logo).
95-105% of the performance of GTX 580 for 70% of the price.

My vote was for the 580, but if you go for a 570 -AR from EVGA you can always play with it for 3 months, then step-up without losing any value from your original purchase.
Is there an AMD vendor that has a similar warranty and something like EVGA's step-up? |

I voted 580, but a 570 would be fine. I picked 580 because money doesn't seem to be an issue for you.

Taking into consideration that you likes teh AA I would say a single 570 may not do the trick for up coming games. A single 580 may not do the trick for games like Crysis 2 or Diablo III either though....
Still, I would go with either a single 580 (the extra memory will help with 1920x1200 and AA) or 570 SLI. I can tells you 570 SLI is a MONSTER nom nom nom. I've been playing and comparing SLI to single card performance and a single vanilla 570 is no slouch either.

I voted you stick with the GTX295 for now. That GPU is powerfull enough to run most if not all DX10 games at there highest settings with AA as well. Your in the same boat as me Meth, i too am waiting as i really dont think that it would be worth my while to upgrade atm as there isnt many DX11 games at all and the ones that are out dont seem to be worth the extra money for the increase in quality.
Wait for Nvidia 600 series imo. We are at a brick wall atm with the console ports as it seems the consoles have just about hit there limit, when the next gen consoles are released then we might see games that will be worth the extra dough for a brand new GPU. |

I voted 570. Option to step up or add another 570 when prices drop later.
