Default Did I miss something?

In the anandtech review, the 6970's in XFire matched/beat 580's in SLI in the two most demanding games on the market (Crysis and Metro 2033). Why are people not more excited about this?

What graphs are you looking at? In the Anandtech review, I see the GTX 580 SLI still beating the 6970 XFire at 2560x1600 and 1920x1200 in Crysis Warhead. Only in the minimum framerate for 1920x1200 is the 6970 XFire better than 580 SLI.

For Metro 2033, the 580 SLI loses to the 6970 XFire at 2560x1600, but then that graph also shows the 5870 XFire beating the 580 SLI as well, so I'm going to say its both a combination of the higher VRAM on the 6970 as well as AMD optimizing the hell out of their drivers for Metro 2033.

If we take a straight average at 1920x1200 and 2560x1600, its performance is more or less equal to the GeForce GTX 570. In practice this means that NVIDIA wins a third of our games, AMD wins a third of our games, and they effectively tie on the rest, so the position of the 6970 relative to the GTX 570 is heavily dependent on just what games out of our benchmark suite you favor. All we can say for sure is that on average the two cards are comparable.

And no it didn't beat 580's in Crysis, and the Metro 2033 numbers looks suspect to me, considering everything up to now has shown completely the opposite and even other sites show it the other way around.
