Dethklok Returns!

So I ran the test... The failures were so minuscule, its unlikely anyone would run into problems with a site because of it. And since HTML5 is nowhere near a standard yet, it matters even less.
If IE9 can pass the Acid3 test with 100% and go through the passes instantaneously, then I would be impressed. Heres what I found that failed (Chrome 7.0.514.44 Stable):

IE9 as per one report, does a lot more than IE8, also supporting Canvas graphics and SVG, and some HTML5 audio and video.
But it is not so perfect, means a few sites still don't render correctly, though these are a small set of minority sites. However, the alternative is "Compatilbility Mode" button (a broken page). On the other hand, strength of the Google Chrome browser also named the most vulnerable application considering success in test of the "Dirty Dozen" list by including a variety of vulnerability types -- cross-site scripting vulnerabilities and buffer-overflow. Some security exploits of vulnerabilities were also found involving risk for the entire organization and other desktop user applications.

Failing to mention the fact that vulnerability lists are voluntarily disclosed by the projects reeks of biased shillery. The actual reported attacks on the OS via IE are much better indicators. Doesn't really matter what MS volunteers about IE.

Finally dl'd and installed IE9 beta. So far very pleased, and it does seem a bit faster.
I like how they combined the search box and address bar- looks a whole lot less cluttered, much cleaner. Think it's a keeper. Haven't tried the 64-bit version yet. |
