The Galaxy GTX480 Super OC that I am ordering soon will have that cooler, and a backplate. My goal is to hit 1ghz.

I'm really hoping the cooler does the job.

AC sent me the install kit, hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week. I'll get the results posted as soon as I have the results. I'm also curious how yours, with the backplate, compares to mine without it.

It is Bro - plus Arctic Cooling took care of me after having so much trouble getting a mounting kit - very happy all around.

For you there would be no charge.

It was actually much harder getting the stock hsf off than installing the new one - very straight forward.

Hate to necro, but I think this is important enough.

Installation was grueling, but I think the end result is worth it. Highly recommended. Idle temps are 38c.

Looking good! Were you able to use the same VR004 kit for the 580 or is another kit available for those?

Have to agree on the recommendation. It's been a few weeks on this for me and it never even breaks a sweat.
