I think you're wrong.

This site says that it works with the captivate and the vibrant. Have you tried it?

This is the first reply to the article:

I just returned my Captivate because it would noy synch with Outlook. AT&T confirmed that this phone will not do this and Samsung also confirmed the same.
How could this feature be overlooked for the business user?

I'm cool with it though. I won't be returning mine.

Never tried to sync Outlook since I don't care about my work email but the rest of Kies works fine on my Vibrant.

Might be the leather flip case it is in. Normally it's in a screen mount on the drivers side, might try centre windscreen. If that fails, I may get the TomTom iPhone 4 mount, but it's a little pricey at 150AUD.

I've thought about that multiple times. With wifi EVERYWHERE and skype, it makes it a SUPER cheap option. Only downside is that once time when you might be in trouble, or somewhere where you need a phone and you don't have wifi.

agreed. my solution would probably be a pay as you go dumpy phone I leave in the car. only use it once ins a while and i save money.

i'm very close to porting my number and going for it.

I Sync through Gmail. You can sync contacts, email, and calendar. You can also sync with Facebook and Twitter as well if you want. Personally I synced with Facebook because it updates any changes that people make like new phone numbers or contact photos.
