LCD blinking to black (GeForce 5200 FX)

Hi all,

I'm a Linux Mint 10 user. I'm using nvidia proprietary driver (ver. 173.14.28-0ubuntu1) on my GeForce 5200 FX graphic card.
I've the annoying problem of the blinking to black screen.
I read several solutions, like:

options nvidia NVreg_RegistryDwords="PerfLevelSrc=0x2222"

in the /etc/modprobe.d/options file,

Sync to VBlack ON

several configuration for refresh rate

but I've no luck.
Does anybody knows the solution of this issue? Thankyou very much in advance.
