And those pics looks to have mods. The detail layer terrain blending range in vanilla is some 20-30m after that what is visible is the stretched out base satellite texture that covers whole area. Becouse it is IIRC 2048x2048 it ends up looking bad for an area of say 0.5x0.5km or bigger. Since areas are greater than 1x1km it ends up being really blurry after being stretched out.

DX10 GPUs are supported by DX11 so even if they went for DX11 API alone it would support DX10 GPUs unless they forced on exclusive DX11 features (liek for some benchmarks etc). Anyway CE3 support DX9 to. As far as I am aware all PC media of Crysis 2 has been in DX9 mode.

Well Yoda, you clearly don't like STALKER, therefore awesome is not you. I take back my previous picture.

Really Koko, you should see the screenshot of my COP version. Here chew on these ones and tell me I dont care enough about Stalker games to without doubt spend lots of hours to download nice mods and make my own to get a solid package for me to enjoy (seeing all that advanced tech and perfomance impact being wasted due to bad art decisons making it look like a DX8 game in the wilderness). Anyway love how it looks now, jaw-dropping and the most important the gameplay is superb. http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/514...driponcigs.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/258...ingstories.jpg http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/9...texdetail2.jpg http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/2...alkercop13.jpg http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/1...ireatnight.jpg http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/9...nshipwreck.jpg http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/7...hshipwreck.jpg http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7307/stalkercop14.jpg http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/3955/stalkercop3.jpg http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/1092/stalkercop7.jpg http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/385...stthegrass.jpg Youre only allowed to see this screenshot if you watched the others. ![]() http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1496/vodkapartypic.jpg |

Great COP shots dude, What AA levels are them taken at? Also, modded xray-engine still pwns most engines (except ce2 and 4A Engine)
Yoda what hardware are you preparing your games with at this moment? Am still on mah old gtx 295.. decent, but starting to get slow and old, i want dx11, and i want 580 SLI performance, but aint gonna buy into nvidias sh*t this time. Amd is around the corner which i am pursuing; the 6990, gonna be a blast. gonna brake 580 SLI results in Crysis..Just check these babies: http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon...firex-review/8 3 fps from 580 sli, and thats dual 6950, they are unlockable to 6970's ![]()

I see. You may keep a part of the picture.
I never really paid any attention to the grass draw distances and even less so for all the other complaints - or you could say I just did not notice them. I did not really get bothered by any bugs in any of the Stalker games to date. I'm not saying I did not come across any, but I just did not care - cos I wus playin' Stalker yo! Possible spoiler: I really liked COP - how it felt that you were part of a team in the tunnel with the 4 guys. It felt like they were closer to being aware of what was going on instead of just tagging along and shooting.

Agreed to above poster, neither did i notice any of the LOD system more than the grass, but like koko said u don't really pay attention to that stuff when you are hunted and chased by mutant dogs or a fast pseudodog male xD
Call of pripyat gotta be the best in the series, a mix in the graphics along with performance between SoC and CS... I just wish they had made some more missions in Pripyat and some characters in to interact and get missions from there. Pripyat in COP is alot more authentic and big than the one in SoC which was more of a passage...

No really - I did a double take when the night vision shots came in. I think I only realized that it was still from CE3 because I was watching a video with CE3 stuff in it.

BS, There's always the option to use high levels of supersampling to achieve the same crisp and detailed look. You shouldn't speak when you don't know.

?The water looks considerably better in motion than it does in a snapshot, so do the moving trees and everything else.
