Official Need For Speed Shift thread - Page 32

Just bought this game on Steam and... it's awful. To be fair I've got given it a fair chance yet, but if all the cars handle like the ones I've tried, it's a waste of money. If I hadn't paid for it, it would be laughable. I've spend ages tweaking things to get it to feel remotely OK, but no.

It's not too bad with a wheel - once set up of course. Oh yeah - it's not bad when you drive for laptimes - alone. Without the AI.

I think it's supposed to be somewhere in between and honestly i like it a lot... the feel of driving and the sound at least, the overly aggressive ai can be a pain.

I tried the overhaul mod, but it seems like the ai is just better at following the racing line and has less of a throttle handicap. But they seem dumber in that if you are on that racing line, they will just plow right through you rather than trying to go around.

we dont really have a shift 2 thread, but does anyone know why it might be crashing to desktop? i am using 11.9 driver. before i updated, i had some super old 10.5 or something, and it worked fine with that driver. basically the menu is fine, but when you press for the race to start, camera zooms around the car for a second, then it crashes.
