HDMI to Dynex TV blinks/OK with JVC TV - psbl sound issue
Problem: driving the Dynex TV via HDMI causes the screen to blink off/on roughly
every second. If the sound server is occupied by a video, scrolling up in a text
product displayed in a terminal, or any other sound source, there is no blink.
Sound and video are otherwise perfect. Returning to runlevel 3 (text) does not
stop the blink, only a reboot to runlevel 3 (text mode) cures.
I will not significantly repeat info in the attached log. I have not yet filed
a bug report as the error may be mine.
I have two HDMI sources: cable box/Zbox HD-ND22
I have two HDMI/HDMI cables
I have two HDMI sinks (TVs): JVC
and a Dynex DX-L19J-10A
Cable box will drive either TV via HDMI with either cable.
Zbox will drive JVC with either cable.
Zbox to Dynex via HDMI produces the above problem.
I have tried selinux disabled, firewall disabled. I have tried the kernel
command line options listed in "stability problems" sticky post. I have
tried atrpms, rpmfusion and Nvidia driver compile from source
(260.19.29, and beta NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-270.18.run). I have tried
numerous sound configurations. The most basic of sound instructions
for HDMI worked flawlessly with the JVC television.
On the Zbox/Dynex: terminal command speaker-test works as expected. The
gnome-sound-properties GUI speaker test works as expected.
As HDMI is the only way I have to get sound to the Dynex, I would like to
solve the blinking but I have exhausted my options.
