Post New GeForce GTX 560 Ti ' DirectX 11 Gaming Gets Even Better

Six months ago, I told you about the GeForce GTX 460, and your responses were great. The GTX 460 quickly became one of our most popular GPUs by virtue of its fantastic price/performance, cool and quiet operation and outstanding over-clockability.

After reading your comments on my blog post, we could tell that you liked the GTX 460 but you wanted even more:

Alright, you got it!

New today, the GeForce GTX 560 Ti is the graphics card you've been asking for. Not only does it have 384 CUDA cores, but we've juiced the graphics clocks up to 822MHz and improved power efficiency. The GTX 560 Ti delivers 33% better performance and 21% better performance / watt compared to the GTX 460. It runs just as cool and quiet and is still an overclocker's dream.

The 560 Ti offers 3.4x the graphics performance of previous generation GPUs like the GeForce 8800 GT. Take a look at the comparison shots below from World of Warcraft, to get a better idea of the visual upgrades I'm talking about (click to see full screen versions).

In addition today's games are using DirectX 11 to deliver stunning visual effects from exquisitely detailed terrain tessellation in Hawx2 to the beautiful shading and depth of field effects in Metro 2033. To handle these advanced DirectX 11 features, a GPU needs a lot of tessellation and shading horsepower. With eight tessellation engines and 384 CUDA cores, the GeForce GTX 560 Ti gives you just that. And for those of you who really want intense gaming performance, we'd recommend putting two of them together in SLI.

The GTX 560 Ti is available today, starting at a price point of $249. For more info check out this interview on GeForce.com.

Let us know what you think by sounding off in the comments below. Thanks, and happy PC gaming!
