Ive just done a small bios tweak ... The default fan setting is now 55% instead of 30% .. Its still totally silent, Any more than 55% and i can slightly start to hear the fan, Its dropped the temp to 29 - 30c idle now compared to the 37c idle before.
Ive also unlocked the voltage .... Before with afterburner i was able to hit a max of 1.163V .... Now i could hit a max voltage of 1.213V. Time to start the overclocking ...

Well ive settled on a new overclock, First off the stock clock speeds benchies.
Stock. Core Clock: 783MHz Memory Clock: 4020MHz Shader Clock: 1566MHz Vantage.  3DMark 11.  ************************************************** *********** The new overclocked speeds. Core Clock: 900MHz Memory Clock: 4600MHz Shader Clock: 1800 Vantage.  3DMark 11.

So you've flashed a modded bios
 Good results so far! On what voltage did you reach 900 MHz?If I keep the fans ad 42-43%, the card will idle around 32-33 degree, as low as my cpu... |

The voltage is at 1.088V .... Got/flashed my fan speed at/to 55% ... Its no louder than it was at 30% and it now idles at around 30c, I dare say i could push this bad boy even further.

Thanks for the info, the voltage for 900 MHz looks promising enough for higher clocks
Good job! I won't tinker with o/c right now as I don't have the necessary time... but it's clear that most of the gtx580 can reach at least 850 with a 900 MHz being a good average.I'm really how Crysis 2 will bring this generation to its knees... or not. |
