Can't believe ive just played this.

Wow what can i say!

I remember a couple of years ago i played Crysis in a friends house, Thought yeah it looks good but the game its self is pants, Anyway i wanted something to push my new 580 ..... Although i had played crysis before and didn't think much of of it i decided to give it another try ... I bought both Crysis & Crysis Warhead via steam just the other night.

Having installed natural mod v2.0.2, Silents High Resolution Foliage & Custom Crysis Config [CCC] v1.31 and also having forced x8 AA/AF via nvidia inspector the game look fantastic.

I'm hooked on this game, Not only does it look awesome but the game-play is great too ... Great story line, Great weapons/gadgets & the nanosuit is a really cool bit of kit!

I'm up to the lvl called Core so far ... Got Warhead installed ready for when i complete Crysis.

Oh does anybody know if the mods im using will run ok with Warhead?

I don't know about the mod + Warhead, but I sure agree with you on the game. I never understood the hate for Crysis some have. I've been through it 5-6 times since release and enjoy it every time.

Other than the odd graphical glitch, I thought it was a great game all round. Only played through once and I've yet to get more than an hour in to Warhead. Guess I should reinstall and have a blast

EDIT: Heck, I might even reinstall teh original and try a mod while I'm at it

Ive read a lot that the game goes down hill one the aliens come into it, I personally don't think so ... I mean i spent the first part of the game fighting the Koreans, Going it with a silenced weapon, Cloaked & mostly trying to take them out one by one without being seen whenever possible.

Then the aliens come, At first i was trying to do the same thing against the aliens as i was against the Koreans, After a few fails i realized that's not the way to take the little buggers ... Oh no, With the aliens im now finding myself having to just run at them with all guns blazing, Get in as close and possible & fill them with lead until dead lol .... This works, Its fun.

Oh BTW, two mods ive found work well with both games & make them look stunning:

Crysis:- Silents High Resolution Foliage & Crysis CCC V1.31.

Warhead:- Rygel High-Res Texture mod & Warhead CCC v3.00.

(Warhead actually looks better than Crysis in my imo, Just had a quick look at the first lvl of Warhead to make sure then mods where working, Gonna save Warhead for after i complete Crysis)

Rygel textures suck... They are just vanilla textures which got a few strokes with the sharpening tool in photoshop.

I was in the same boat until November or so of last year.

I was very underwhelmed. I think the hype engine hurt my hopes of ever liking it. It was built up for so very long, it was hard to not be unimpressed. There were many good features. I hated the space area. It was hard for the wrong reasons, IMO, and that's never fun.

I have a hard time putting my finger on what "wasn't" good to me, but I didn't enjoy Crysis or Warhead.

Yea I don't care how pretty it is, I still think the game itself sucks.
