In order to be a fanboy, you must gravitate to one side or the other. I'm indifferent when it comes to recommending cards; I recommend the best solution at the time. However, certain members of this forum make me gravitate towards red when he posts, simply because of his agenda and the bias he blatantly shows in his posts.

No offense intended, but this is his fault. When ever something like this happens, 90% of the time, he's at the center of it. Wonder why....

In other news, bring on the GTX 590! Nvidia needs a good dual-chip solution.

Must admit. I loved the look of portrait mode. It looked awesome.
Yeah would be nice to see those tests done over with both cards on the latest drivers.

I just checked MSI afterburner and GPU-Z. Both will tell you your GPU usage, but neither have an option for video memory usage. It would be a very nice statistic to know. Eventually someone will figure out how to decode video memory usage on ATI/AMD video cards, and it will become part of a suite. For now, I guess we're SOL.

What's the "memory usage" shown in afterburner's monitoring window then, system? I thought that was just video memory used.

GPU-Z also has a "memory used" under it's sensors tab.

Wait, those can't be system memory, they're only showing 133Mb or so used.

Memory usage can be monitored on nVidia cards, but not yet on ATi ones.

NP. I imagine it's only a matter of time till we can monitor the usage on ATi hardware. Just not doable yet.

Here's to hoping that ATI hardware memory usage will be added soon. It would be cool to see which games use the most video memory.

Yes, nvidia finally added API for monitoring VRAM usage and GPU usage. And yes, it will be added in future releases. But I'd like to clearly menion that nothing changed and there are still NO ways for user mode applications to know how much VRAM is in use via unified approaches. So it will start working on NVIDIA side "again" only because NVIDIA decided to contribute in this area and provided an API for accessing internal NV driver's videomemory manager statistics. So it will be available only on NVIDIA cards and only with 19x.xx series drivers, where this new API is available. ATI users may forget about getting it working "again", until ATI decide to do the same and provide access to their videomemory manager.
Boo hiss on AMD.

I would wait for the GTX 590 ,I bet it will be faster them the 5890.I don't see how they can meet the power requirements ,is'nt the max 375watts. 150 watts for each 8 pin PCIe and the PCIe 2,0 slot puts out 75 watts.
