Help!
I've been searching high and low, can't figure this one out - I can get TV out to work, but there is a blue vertical stripe that moves across the telly screen a few times, then after that the picture is jittery (very uneven) and shimmering - looks like something with the horiz and vert refresh rates, but I can't find optimal settings. Whats odd is, that this isn't just with X. Even if I boot up in console mode (and the S-VIDEO cable is plugged in) I see the login console on my CRT as well as the TV - and its still as above on the Telly. Even in console mode. So perhaps it has nothing to do with the X settings? Details: Athlon XP2600+ Microstar MBoard GeForce 4 MX440-8X Driver 1.0-4496 RedHat 9 with updated gcc and glibc from Fedora [manik@balrog manik]$ cat /proc/driver/nvidia/cards/0 Model: GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X IRQ: 11 Video BIOS: 04.18.20.22.00 Card Type: AGP Attached are the various XFree86 config files I've tried, along with the X log. Note that all these X configs behaved pretty much the same as above. Cheers, |

Hello again ...
No replies, huh ... sigh! :-) I've taken a short vid clip of my telly screen with the blue vertical line running across it. As you can see, this is in console mode - no XWindows started up yet ... I've been going nuts trying to fix this. I'm so desperate I-m about to install Windows on this machine - only to test the card, of course. Ok, I just noticed that the upload limit here is pathetic. The vid clip is 4 Megs, and its up on my web space: http://surtani.host.sk/TV_out.mov Someone please help! ![]() |

i think you used xf86config to set your XF86Config. try to use xf86cfg. if your Xserver works this is the better way. this will automaticly detect your grafic card and loads all fonts and modules you ll need. but you we have to delete some line out of your XF86Config:
in the modules section: > load dri and the whole .. >Section "DRI" > ... >EndSection i think if you just do NOT set any erfresh rates this will also solve your problem , - could solve - ![]() |
