ION audio formats

Alsa reports that my ION GPU supports S16_LE and S32_LE. Audio in S24_LE or S24_3LE format is not supported.

Is this format not supported by driver or the hardware? It's an ION LE running 260.53 drivers.

OK, let me ask in a different way - would it be possible for the drivers to be patched to allow S24_LE or S24_3LE format support?.

Whatever ALSA reports is typically what the hardware says it supports. So, no, you're unlikely to be able to just patch around this.
